In my mind I travel backwards into the past.
I think of all the happy times, sad times, joyful times and times of sorrow.
But through it all, you were there. You suffered with me.
And for that this is the only gift I can give to you.
Thank you for all the times that you’ve been there.
Even when you had your own trials and tribulations.
Thank you for giving me the courage to go on.
Even when you had your doubts and frustrations.
Thank you for teaching me that patients is a virtue
Even in those times when you were running out.
Thank you for putting my feet on higher ground.
Even in those times when you didn’t know your whereabouts.
Thank you for accepting me for who I am.
Even when you had to face some pain.
Thank you for bringing me sunshine.
Even when you had to go through the rain.
My life has been so fuller. My heart is so free.
All because of the friendship you brought to me.
The joy you brought to me I can’t compare,
But one thing I know, I’ll always be there.

I really enjoyed that. It was very good, but I think you should've put that in the writer's block board. Ah well, it was very good anyhow!
I do agree it would be better placed in the writer's block, but poetry as good as this is, is acceptible where ever you find it.
